Tom Petty, Ryan Montbleau, and Guster

I was fortunate enough to attend a songwriting retreat with Ryan Montbleau.  First and foremost, the time spent there was transformative.  I’ve got a lot of new songs and a new perspective on music as a result and I am incredibly thankful to have met such wonderful musicians and people on the retreat.

Some very cool moments include: (1) Getting to be a part of the Tom Petty Tribute show at High Ground in Burlington, VT.  (2) Ryan Miller of the band Guster was a part of the show as well and I accosted him for a photo in between songs.  (3) I formed two new bands on the retreat: The Martine Express and The Really Tiny Watermelons.

Unfortunately, the retreat saw me rewrite all of my newly recorded songs.  Thus, it is back to the studio to lock down some new versions of songs.  Spotify will have to wait for now.  But I’m happy with what I’ve turned out in the past few weeks.  The “band” has now changed our name to “Drew and The Truth” to better reflect what we’re about.  We just finished a gig at Loaded Question Brewing playing 80% original music for 2 hours and could have easily hit that 2 hour mark with original music only.  This is a milestone and something that I’m very proud of.

We will be booking new winter shows shortly so stay tuned!

Oops…

I told a room full of people that I have a website today, so it was probably time I update the info.  Nat Morgan and I will be playing Loaded Question Brewing once a month for the rest of our lives starting tomorrow night.  Its a great brewery and we’ll be playing a great time slot at 6 pm to 8 pm.  Last time we entertained an encore so we could probably go past 8 pm if spirits are high.

I’ve been finishing up some recordings.  The only thing left to track is the percussion so I’m eyeing a Spotify release sometime in late October or early November.  Stay tuned for more updates and some type of music release party.  Hope to see you at some of the upcoming shows.

Some music in the meantime…..

I’ve been working on grabbing some gigs for the winter and spring. There will be some big announcements by week’s end. I also plan on releasing a few previews of new songs in their preproduction phase so stay tuned.

In the meantime, here is an acoustic rendition I recorded of one of my favorite songs of all time…..The Replacements: “Can’t Hardly Wait.” Click the link below to give it a listen.

Some new material!

This past summer I spent a weekend with a number of musicians and performers at the Livingston Taylor retreat at Boston University. Since that weekend of inspiration (and epic criticism of yours truly), I’ve been focused on developing new and meaningful material. I’ve added a few demo-style recordings as for your listening as I make final adjustments to these songs. All of the instrumentation is by me, though the drum tracks are electronic I still have to make things work reasonably well. The rhythm guitar and vocals are live recordings. Once I figure out how to connect my mixer interface to the iPad I will add bass guitar as well. Hope you enjoy and thanks for listening. You can hear these songs under the “listen” tab of the menu.

The Journey Begins…….Again

Thanks for jumping onto the website!  I haven’t maintained a personal music site for a number of years, but, here were are again!  Here’s what you missed:

I was playing a lot of music solo in the earlier part of the current decade and the latter part of the last decade.  I’ve been playing a great deal with a great group of characters gigging around the New Hampshire area but, more importantly, enjoying music and the community it creates.

Look for me across the seacoast and beyond in the coming year.  I’ll be booking shows for the upcoming spring and summer to help support the recording of an EP that I’m hoping to have done and available by June 2019.
